XTester Studio Alpha 8: run preparation, research and Paper

Alpha 8 is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. This release brings together improvements to Studio, Research Lab, the engine, Launcher and the built-in local MCP server.
From strategy setup to a report
Strategy creation, conversion and storage selection are clearer. Independent project roots and recovery help keep projects separate. Tree selection, double-click opening and portfolio actions have been improved, and portfolio reports use a more compact layout.
Before a run, the readiness dialog checks history coverage and gaps. You can recheck the data and make required decisions before starting. Effective settings, progress and estimated remaining time are easier to inspect; step mode is selected for each run.
Research, models and Paper
Research Lab includes data-health reports, parameter sensitivity, Monte Carlo robustness, stress scenarios and walk-forward analysis. Results can be exported as an HTML tearsheet or PDF with the associated research evidence.
The Models page imports portable ONNX and .xtmodel artifacts, shows feature and training-period contracts, and uses the supported CPU runtime. Market research adds movement episodes and retained research artifacts.
Supported local standalone C# Paper scenarios can run for a bounded duration or until a UTC deadline. Finish stops new entries while the existing strategy logic drains exposure. Durable state supports explicit recovery after interruption, with uncertainty and unsellable dust kept visible.
Everyday work
- Expanded launch-profile management, a trading console, clearer server tabs, remote launch actions, Telegram cockpit controls and improved parallel Launcher startup.
- C# hover reference counts, clearer editor navigation, log-severity colors, bounded log rollover and queue counters.
- More responsive charts and metadata, history-download progress under load, live-feed recovery and clearer stalled-feed state.
- Improved MCP window ownership, reconnect handling and asynchronous run preparation. The canonical release catalog contains 272 tools and matches the packaged host.
Download and verification
Get Alpha 8 from the download page or the exact GitHub release. Compare downloaded files with checksums.sha256; the release also includes a detached signature and the public verification key.
- Windows x64: setup EXE or portable ZIP; Windows 10 version 2004 or newer.
- Linux x64: DEB, RPM or tar.gz; glibc 2.28 or newer. The tar.gz package needs the system ICU runtime.
- macOS: separate Apple Silicon arm64 and Intel x64 ZIPs; macOS 14 or newer.
Windows packaged checks and isolated offline fresh-install and upgrade scenarios passed. Linux execution was checked under WSL2/Xvfb, and all three package formats were fully extracted and matched to the verified payload. Both Mac archives passed cross-build, complete extraction, native inventory, ad-hoc signature and bundle-seal checks. All twelve release files were downloaded from the GitHub draft and verified by SHA-256; the detached checksum signature was independently verified with the public release key.
Windows packages do not have a trusted Authenticode publisher signature. Mac packages use ad-hoc signatures and have no Developer ID or notarization; native Mac launch and Gatekeeper acceptance have not been tested. The offline Windows scenarios did not exercise the WinGet client or complete updater UI. Paper and offline checks do not establish live-exchange readiness or strategy profitability.
